The natural way to dry the log is open air, however, because of heavy demand of logs in the market, kilns are used to dry them quickly. It is also a fact that no matter what log home kit you have used, all log homes are tend to settle with time; settling means shrinking and compression of the logs. There will be less likelihood of shrinking if good seasoned logs are used. Seasoning removes the moisture from the logs and chances of shrinking are reduced.
