The directory listings themselves don't actually generate more visitors. There remains some contention with regard to how many directories is the right number to submit my blog to. Some people feel that I should submit my blog to as many as hundreds of blog directories, while others feel that this would be pointless. Many web experts agree that as little as 5 to 10 blog directories may actually be more than enough. While most search engines do favor sites with more links, they do not usually consider links originating from a blog directory as important as links that come from actual blog posts or articles.
