All things garage buildings
A frame of many capacities, Quonset huts are are tough, easy to move, adaptable and affordable. The materials are corrugated and galvanised which allow for its portable quality and its ability to withstand the elements. First used by the United States Army back in World War Two, Quonset huts were prized not only for the movability and light weight, but also for their easier construction. While Quonset huts mainly served as a barracks for troops and army personnel, these buildings also fit the needs of the army medicinal staff, the mechanics, librarians and postal workers on the military sites. After the war Quonset huts were viewed as a piece of architectural inspiration in Art and Architecture magazine and their influences can still be seen in the architecture of today that prizes open space.
